Gorakhnath Siddha Cave

Nearby to where the Bakreshwor temple is another site that all should visit is the Gorakhnath Gufa (cave). Legend has it that the sage Gorakhnath came here to meditate and perform his prayers. It is said that during this time the king of Gorkha kingdom Prithivi Narayan Shah came to pay his respects to the sage Gorakhnath.

The local priest who resides here performs puja every day and also lights a flame all year round. All visitors coming to this temple are provided with a tika made of the sashes produced by is flame. Though the length of this cave is not certain, it is believed that the cave goes on to deep lengths.
